MBSR stands for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, it is an evidence-based program that was developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in the 1970s by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn, it has been shown to help with stress, pain, anxiety, low mood, and to improve quality of life. The emphasis is on supporting participants to develop the practical skills that help foster grater self-awareness and resilience.

No, this course is suitable for people starting out with meditation. It is also ideal for those who have meditation experience and would like to learn more about how to apply mindfulness in daily life and develop a consistent daily practice.

The MBSR is an interactive and experiential program. It can at times be challenging and does require a commitment to home practice. You will be provided with guided meditations, and a course handbook to support you during and after the program.
In each session we will explore a different theme. There will be time spent doing formal practices, group discussions, and other exercises.
